Psychedelic mom
The Psychedelic Frogfish (Histiophryne psychedelica) is a rare species of frogfish, endemic to Ambon, Indonesia. It is easily recognized by its unique pattern and flat head, compared to other frogfish species. Histiophryne frogfishes hide the cluster of eggs in a pocket formed by the pectoral fin and the tail which is bent around. Brood care like this is known from frogfishes of the Genus Histiophryne and Echinophryne. The Psychedelic Frogfish is considered the Holy Grail for many underwater macro enthusiasts.
