15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Puddle off of alpine lake.
Waiting for a cloud. We had hiked to the top of a mountain just outside of Vail, Co. Our guide was fishing in the alpine lake behind me. I had hiked all around the lake and noticed this scene and happily waited for the clouds to pass to just the right spot.
