Puerto Rican Flag on Uprooted Tree
After Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, huge devastation to trees caused many old ones to be torn out of the ground and uprooted. These tree roots in San Juan were decorated with an adaptation of the Puerto Rican flag, symbolizing the tattered but unbowed perseverance of the people in the face of that enormous American tragedy.
