Udappu fishing village situated in Sri Lanka. The people of Udappu are Hindu Karawa of South Indian origin. In the Tamil month of Avani is an 18-day festival. This period is spent in prayer and fasting and a final celebration of firewalking, and making of pongal to the gods to protect udappu's fisherman who wil set sail for days and months in the deep seas of ceylon.
