Purple ipê tree
This photograph shows a ipê with its purple flowers. The ipê is a native tree from Brazil, which bloom in the dry season of the capital Brasilia and of the biome called Cerrado. Even though its flowers seem pink, it is called "purple" ipê because of the format of its petals, differing from the pink ipê. This color is the first one to appear when the dry season begins in the city.
