Queen Anne's Lace

The bullfrogs were signaling an imminent thunderstorm but I did not listen! The sky began pouring water and lightening was cracking all around. As I was running toward the car (it takes a lot for me to run these days) I spotted this Queen Anne's Lace and took a quick shot. The light was beautiful and the image was surprisingly sharp considering the gusty wind. This flower is one of my favorites as it supports a diversity of life, especially in the fall when it curls into a bird's nest shape to provide housing for insects.
