Mardi Gras Indian Queen Cinnamon Black of the Spirit of FIYIYI at Uptown Super Sunday. Uptown Super Sunday is typically held on the third Sunday in March. The Mardi Gras Indians display their elaborate suits to spectators. The suits, which tell stories of African and African-American history, are constructed of feathers and thousands of beads. Each suit is hand sewn and can take thousands of hours to complete.
