Quiet Moment on the Iron Ore Train
Caught just after sunrise on Mauritania’s iron ore train. We were deep into the 19-hour ride when the light shifted from gold to orange and the whole desert turned still. One of the friends I’d made on the journey leaned against the side of the ore car, checking his phone, completely calm as the Sahara opened around us.
