"Rafting the Rio Grande" is an annual celebration in Las Cruces, NM. It celebrates the return in the spring of irrigation water to the dry Rio Grande. Crowds gather at a bridge to float down the river in everything from canoes to inner tubes, including home made rafts, wildly decorated.
