As we hiked along the path that led to the Darwin Bay overlook, the skies opened up on us for a brief few moments, enough to cool us down from our hike through the dry tropical lowlands of San Cristobal, Galapagos. Just as we reached the overlook of Darwin Bay a rainbow appeared over the bay as if to welcome us to the Galapagos Islands and this place that is sacred for biologists and natural history enthusiasts.
