Rainy Day in Lofoten, Norway
Lofoten is an archipelago in Norway characterised by stunningly beautiful landscape, in particular jagged tall peaks that appear to be rising up from the fjords. The red cottages in the photo are known as robruer, in the fishing village of Hamnoy, and used to be cottages which fishermen would rent during the fishing season when they were away from the families for long stretches of time. They are a unique feature of Lofoten and have now been converted into very comfortable tourist accommodation.
