This is a photograph of the Marine Corps War Memorial/Iwo Jima Memorial during sunset. The photograph depicts the dedication of the men in the Marine Corps to defend their country during World War II. The memorial that was dedicated and made to honor the men of the United States Marine Corps who defended their country and have given their lives. The Marine Corps War memorial is based on a photograph captured by Joe Rosenthal. The photograph captured the second American flag at Iwo Jima on February 23rd, 1945. This signifies the end of the American campaign in the Pacific during WWII.
