Rakher Upobash: A Festival of Faith and Light

Each year, thousands of devotees converge on the Shri Shri Lokenath Brahmachari Ashram branches to observe the Kartik Brati, also known as Rakher Upobash, a deeply spiritual and significant religious festival. This sacred event takes place on every Saturday and Tuesday during the final 15 days of the Bangla month of Kartik, symbolizing devotion and communal prayer. The festival is dedicated to the memory and teachings of Baba Lokenath, an 18th-century Hindu saint and philosopher from Bengal. Renowned for his wisdom and compassion, Baba Lokenath is revered as a spiritual guide who transcends boundaries of faith, inspiring countless followers to seek peace and enlightenment.
