RAM ON THE HIGHLINE It was a damp, foggy day on The Highline Trail when we heard heavy foot pounding just ahead of us but could not see what it was. Since I was the only man, in the small hiking party, I took the point and made sure I could reach my pepper spray. Then, silhouetted in the fog, the head of a bighorn ram appeared as I began taking photos. He kept moving toward us as I kept myself between my hiking companions and the sheep. He was a big ram, almost the size of a small donkey! Then he jumped up on the uphill side of the trail and vanished into the fog.
