This photo was taken at Pondicherry, an union territory of India. The local administration organized a competition on RANGOLI-a traditional Indian art form using coloured sand or powder to decorate a floor. Only local people could participate and only herbal colours were allowed barring any chemical colour. There was no particular theme on the competition. On the event day hundreds of locals presented their work on either side of the Beach Road which is about 1.5 KM long. The entire road looked magical once the Rangolis were made.
