Rattle Snake Seeking It's Prey.
We were hiking along this trail and came upon a warning written in the dirt that said, "Snake Ahead" with an arrow pointing forward. To make things more interesting, there was a young squirrel lying in the middle of the path 15 feet ahead of us. Upon further inspection it was clear that it was not well and was taking it's last breaths. After about 5 mins kneeling over him, I looked behind me and sure enough right along this log was this rattler. He was clearly waiting for us to leave so he could finish his lunch.
