Ravana, king of demons
Ravana, in Hinduism, is the 10-headed king of the demons (rakshasas). His abduction of Sita and eventual defeat by her husband Rama are the central incidents of the popular epic the Ramayana (“Rama’s Journey”). I saw a truck carrying several of these god impersonations near Mata Mansa Devi temple in Chandigarh and asked the protagonists to pose for me in front of a black cloth that I always carry with me. I always need the help of an assistant but in India anybody is happy to help out.
