Reckless Abandon

I was visiting Kiawah Island, S.C. and looking for an image that stood out against the normal nature images that are taken there. I wanted to capture the essence of the island, what it was like to visit there and enjoy the beauty. Ironically, the image that I captured that I felt represented this experience, the beauty of the island, was taken on an overcast and foggy morning. I begrudgingly woke up especially early and made my way through the fog to the beach, I really didn't expect to find anyone there. After walking a bit I saw a person riding their bike in the distance. There was a flock of birds between the person and myself and I thought how I would have ridden right through them when I was younger. No sooner had I thought that than the rider started to ride towards the birds... All I had to do was lift my camera and capture the beautiful moment.
