Recovering European bison

Bison is the bigest mammal in Europe and one of the most threatened. Formerly its domains reached Western Asia, but it was disappearing as a result of massive hunting, intensive logging and the clearing of forests for agriculture and grazing, reducing the original habitat of these animals. Today there are some projects trying to reintroduce these animals in pastures and mountains.
