Liaohekou Nature Reserve in Liaoning Province is the main rest place where the red-crowned cranes migrate to the north. Every autumn, a large number of birds come here to forage. Staff from the Reserve often feed them some corn on their migratory route. Some rivers in the are don’t freeze in winter. With the food and flowing water, some birds stay in the resever for the rest of the winter. After staying long enough, they won’t get frightened easily by of people.
