While celebrating 8 years of marriage and 2 years of being cancer free, we reviled in hiking through the East Texas forest. We spied this little guy with his concave cap and deep colors of velvety reds in the center with texture changing to ridged and rough edges gradually becoming close to whitish. He demanded attention among the leaves and bark.
