Rabbits scurried in and out of the bushes that sprout along Sunset Beach, NC. Right in front of our vacation rental a Red Tailed hawk captured a young rabbit and began to feed. My family was chatting on the deck and screamed, “Jean! Grab you camera.” Armed with my telephoto, I snapped a hundred shots. I am submitting this one because I never knew or had seen a hawk eviscerating pray in one gesture. It removed the rabbits guts with split second precision and tossed them away.
