This photo shows an important house and its view of the surrounding nature from the inside. The house is called "Baldwin House" built by Arthur Erickson (Canada's most acclaimed modern architect) in 1965 which showcases post-WWII modern heritage and progressive architectural style. Constructed of wood and glass, the house was intended to serve as an invitation to the view of the lake as opposed to being a barrier. As such, it was important to me that a photograph be made from the interiors revealing a blended house-lake view, balancing the inside-outside--to celebrate beauty harmonically contributed to by human design and by nature. For me, someone who has also traveled to Udaipur and seen the lake house, this bears the closest resonance I have seen in the West Coast.
