I was conducting a photoshoot with a dancer, and she was stretching before she executed some more difficult moves. I wanted to capture the in-between moments of dance more than the perfectly posed moments you see on stage. There is more to the life of a dancer than those two minutes on stage. The nerves, dedication, and passion of these athletic artists are what I aimed to capture in these intimate portraits.
