In the West our main natural disaster are fires. These days the U.S. Forest Service uses lightening caused forest fires as 'managed burns' to reduce the forest fuel and abate future forest fires. This photo shows a water puddle formed by fire fighters keeping the fire under control with smoke rising from the surrounding trees.
