Reindeer Herder Chief in Taiga Forest
The image was captured when I visited the Tsaatan reindeer tribe, a small community of nomadic reindeer herders living in Khovsgol, the northernmost province of Mongolia. The name 'Tsaatan' means 'those who have reindeers.' I spent three days with the reindeer herders to understand their way of life, which is all revolved around their reindeers. The reindeers are treated as part of their family members. In the image, the gentleman is the chief of the family.
