In Chefchaouen, Morocco this woman was sitting alone in an empty market watching the few scattered tourists drift by. I pointed to my camera and asked if I could take her picture and when she nodded, I sat down next to her. I don't know this woman at all. I don't know if it was her shop, if she was homeless, if she was hungry or bored... I don't know what she was thinking about, but when I showed her the photograph after I took it, she smiled and kissed my hand.
