Remembering John Paul Jones, Father of the American Navy

This image is of the sculpture of John Paul Jones, known as The Father of the American Navy. It is located at 17th and Independence Ave., NW, Washington, DC, in West Potomac Park, National Mall. It was erected in 1912. The sculptor was Charles Henry Niehaus, and the architect was Thomas Hastings. Captain Jones was a Scottish-born American naval officer in the Revolutionary War.
