Remote Petroglyphs near the Green River, Utah
On a college rafting trip our guides brought us up from the Green River to see these beautiful petroglyphs, likely made over 1200 years ago by indigenous people living in what is now the state of Utah. I love the mysteries in the exuberant chipped stone symbols, and the sense that ancient people left haunting art that still speaks to us today and brings some of their culture down through the centuries to modern eyes.
