Removal - A young Aboriginal boy in Hudson's Bay blanket
From the series: Paradise Promised. By the late 1800's, Aboriginal groups were forced onto designated plots of reserved land, often too dry or sandy to farm and too small to sufficiently hunt and gather food. They were promised food, supplies, and protection but rarely were these promises kept. These reservations resulted in horrendous living conditions and many, many deaths.
