14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Resting
An elder couple resting their feet in front of the landmark rock at the highest point of the Arches National Park, Utah. It took me forty minutes to reach the topside and I was surprised to see them there. You have to climb to the top to see the most famous Delicate Arch yet many young people quit half-way.
