This Snowy Egret was the sole occupant of a small pond within Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge in Delaware. This pond is one of my favorite spots to shoot if there happens to be a hunting or resting bird there. Since I was working with a new camera body, I was happy to find this stationary subject. It gave me time to experiment with the camera settings. It was actually a lovely day out but I underexposed the image to see if it would bring the bird out. There was a couple shooting next to me and I often wished we could compare images - two different perspectives would probably lend two entirely different images!
