Wild steelhead return each spring from the Pacific Ocean to spawn in the Sol Duc River in Olympic National Park. To reach the prime spawning areas of this wild river, they must leap over a raging waterfall known as the Salmon Cascades. This photographs show the incredible effort these wild fish exert to reach their birthing grounds and create the next generation of healthy wild steelhead.
