The Rhinoceros hornbill is a large member of the hornbill family and is Malaysia's national bird They are also a species that is threatened due to habitat destruction and hunting. They are not a common species and I came across a pair while investigating forest on the foot of the central Malaysian dividing range. They were extracting insects from tree bark before flying off giving me a rare opportunity of a flight shot.
