This is a merge of a photo of Richmond in 1865 and in 2015. The 1865 photo was taken in April right after the United States Army occupied Richmond. The Confederates accidentally burned a large portion of the city as they were evacuating, which is shown in the 1865 photo. This shows the ruined city against the rebuilt modern city.
