This is the supermoon in May, also known as the flower moon, rising next to the Sierra Buttes Fire Lookout in California. The fire lookout is at an elevation of 8,587 feet (2,617 meters), and it offers spectacular views of the Sierras, nearby lakes, and the Tahoe National Forest. This aerial image was taken while flying my plane.
