During the Bishwa Ijtema in Tongi, Bangladesh, thousands of commuters and pilgrims struggle to find space on overcrowded trains. With limited transport and no available seats, many risk their lives by standing on rooftops, clinging to the sides, or even trying to climb in through windows just to return home. I captured this moment of chaotic determination and faith in 2023, as around 8,000 to 10,000 people tried to board any train they could — some even leaping from one moving train to another.
