RITUALS OF KARAM PARAB

RITUALS OF KARAM PARAB – KARAM PARAB means festival, is a harvest festival celebrated in Indian states of Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Odisha and West Bengal. It is dedicated to the worship of Karam-Devta (God), the god of power. The festival is held on the 11th day of full moon of the Hindu month of BHADRA which falls between August and September. The villagers offer woods, fruits and flowers to worship the God. During this period people sing and dance together and consume alcohol without limit by everyone except children.
