Crossing a bridge in Cologne, I looked down and was immediately drawn to the striking geometry of this arrangement of tables and chairs on the cruise boat moored directly below. In marked contrast to the murky waters of the Rhine, the aqueous blue of the boat's deck helped in making the resulting pattern appear more abstract.
