Families and friends light a path along the levee of the Mississippi River in St. James Parish for "Papa Noel" and his team of reindeer with the annual Bonfires on the Levee. While some of the structures can be elaborate designs, most are traditional pyramids. Construction of the structures can begin as early as Thanksgiving.
