16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Rivers of bark
This is a composite image of 2 close up photographs of the bark of a Magnolia tree taken in Wakehurst gardens in the UK. I was intrigued by how the lines of bark and the colours, especially close up, looked like an aerial land shot, with it's browns, greens and blues running symmetrically through it.
