College Street in Kolkata is so named because of the many colleges along the street. The street though is famous for the many bookstores that line the sidewalk. As you walk the street, you can literally see books piled up from the pavement to the ceiling of these tiny kiosks. Even more interesting was that as I was walking from one kiosk to the next, I literally bumped into a roadside barber with his makeshift setup. Kolkata remains a unique place that never ceases to surprise.
