We stopped at a roadside market on the way back from clinic in Mulanje, Malawi, where they were selling sugar cane, pineapples, and the most enormous avocados I've ever seen. The gentleman who sold me a pineapple was kind enough to peel it with his machete, leaving the leaves, so I could eat it like a corn on the cob. Messy, yes, but delicious as well!
