13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Roaring Branch, near Arlington, Vermont

The Roaring Branch got its name due to the incredibly powerful spring floods that can at times carry immense boulders downstream. I wanted to capture some of this power during a time of year when the stream is relatively low.
