Sacred Bell (bon-sho) and wooden log (Shu-moku) at Byodo-In Temple
This five-foot, three-ton, brass sacred bell (bon-sho) is part of the Byodo-In Temple, which commemorates the first Japanese immigrants in Hawaii. Visitors ring the bell before entering the temple by pulling and releasing the wooden log (shu-moku).
