Sailing the Indian Ocean on a hand-made Dhow boat, wasn't actually in my plans when I finally made it to Africa. I was on a trip of a lifetime but I went to go on Safari. I was encouraged to add Zanzibar to my itinerary and I was so happy I went. The mixed cultures of Arabic, African and Indian made for rich and colorful culture. There were musicians on this Dhow ride and they played Arabic tunes to the sun setting into the horizon of the Indian Ocean.
