Saint Francis Church, Ranchos de Taos

The Saint Francis Church has been an iconic religious structure in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico, for much longer than its location has been part of the United States. Its buttresses are a continuing graphic study in light, shape and texture. It has intrigued Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Paul Strand and Georgia O'Keeffe among countless others. I lived in Taos for 16 years and visited the church whenever I had a spare moment. Some of my photographs are in its permanent collection and I had an exhibition of my Saint Francis work in the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos.
