This is an up close view of the salt ponds of Maras. Families from the area can own multiple baths, the size of the bath owned depends on how much the family can pay and the size of the family. There are over 3000 individual salt baths situated on the side of a mountain in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Visitors can walk along the skinny barriers in the mine to view the salt production process up close.
