Salt miner of the Salar

Manuel and his family are still harvesting the salt as their ancestors have for centuries: with their faces covered by sheets or wooden masks to protect against the blinding sun, using hatchets or iron bars to break through in to the blue-green brine beneath the crust, rich in minerals.
