San Andrés Great Coral Barrier I.
. The San Andrés Coral Reef can be seen in this shot as a long white cord: it is the strong waves up to 4 meters high that crash against the corals, thus protecting the island, as the waves break there. In the center of the photo, the intense blue of the sea of seven colors. The island of San Andrés, a treasure just 16 km long, is visible to the right, behind the wing of the plane. All this natural wonder, together with Providencia, Santa Catalina, and the keys, is called the Sea Flower, a natural heritage site protected by UNESCO.
